bp Career: Early Engagement Programs

Each year BP opens its doors to the new generation of high achievers. We offer a range of programs where university students can hear from the brightest minds in BP and learn from their experience as leaders in a multi-national company, participate in trading simulations, or even be awarded a scholarship towards their studies.

BP STEP program

BP STEP (Shaping Talent, Energy and Potential) is BP’s three day leadership development program, designed for first and second year undergraduates. This is your opportunity to engage in leadership workshops, as well as network with BP executives, employees and current interns and get valuable insight into the energy industry. This program is open to Engineering, Business and Science students, includes an all-expense paid trip to one of our US locations, and a $500 scholarship.

Sophomore Experience

This exciting, week-long program delivers a unique opportunity for students to learn more about the world of commodity trading at BP. Successful students will receive an all-expense paid trip to our downtown Chicago office and be exposed to our corporate culture and values. This program is open to current university sophomores of any major or discipline with a strong interest in business and trading.

BP Scholars program

For 2017, BP is offering $5,000 scholarships to high-achieving university students studying in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Business. Students will also be offered an opportunity to visit one of our BP locations and experience first-hand what life is like at BP.

Applications for all of these programs are currently open and being accepted through until March 16, 2017.
